Acts 2:22-37
22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
The New Living Translation says "...God publicly endorsed Jesus the Nazarene." HE said that JESUS was the CHRIST by all of the public miracles, wonders, and signs that all of the people listening had witnessed firsthand.
JESUS must have really gotten around. I mean, we see all through HIS ministry that HE traveled and that maltitudes came out to hear HIM. But have you ever thought that all of the people at Penticost had actually heard HIM and seen HIS miracles. Wow. A whole lot of people were touched and believed HIM. Look at verse 37.
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
What were they so sad about? Well, they were ashamed that they had been the instrument of the prophecy to crucify JESUS and that now they still did not believe HIM for salvation. JESUS had died and was raised, but these people were just going on with their lives. They had come to the feast as was custom and they were just continuing with their required religous actions. Completely oblivious to the fact that the coming and going of JESUS ment they had to change their lives.
23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
