Stir Fry
Stir Fry
There is no real recipe for this one. It is just veggies, chunked cooked meat, and gravy.
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, diced
4 Tbs water
1-2 lbs meat, (chicken or steak) cut into bite sized pieces
2-4 cups beef broth
1/8-1/4 cup soy sauce
A big ol' pile of veggies (your choice)
3 Tbs flour
I always start with chopped onion and garlic in a Wok. You can just use a big fry pan with a lid. Add a little water (to omit fatty oil) and cover and simmer until the onion and garlic are cooked through. Make sure you don't boil off all the water. Add the chopped meat and cook through, stirring often. Spoon about 1/4 cup of the broth into a bowl or shaker. Put in enough broth for the amount of gravy you prefer. Add soy sauce to taste.
Throw your veggies in. You can use a bag of frozen mixed, frozen California veggie mix (Broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower), or chop your own. Great options for fresh are snow peas, carrots (sliced), broccoli, cabbage, zucchini, or summer squash. Cover and simmer to your desired done-ness for the veggies.
Add the flour to the reserved broth and mix well. Pour into pan and stir to thicken broth.
Serve over rice.
