Acts 4:1-21
Would you do it? Would you speak out knowing it would be politically incorrect or that it would possibly be offensive? How many times in GOD'S Word do we see those boldly speaking the gospel even if it was impolite? Yet how many times is it just inappropriate for us to speak.
You feel the nudge to tell the person in the elevator yet the other guy standing there might hear you and you weren't feeling like he would appreciate it so you kept silent. Or the lady in the
grocery store who just looks so hopeless and you want so desperately to share with her the hope you have, but you just aren't sure how.
There have been times that I have seen someone with an obvious illness and felt like I was supposed to go and touch them but I didn't. What would have happened? The worst would have been that I was embarrassed. Why am I so afraid of embarrassment? Peter and John were facing imprisonment or worse. Yet, they obeyed the HOLY SPIRIT. What is my problem?
Paul many times was attacked for speaking yet he didn't stop. Not only speaking but actions we are asked to preform. Consider the Ten Boom family. They risked loosing their family's livelihood, their father was getting old, they had a business that was established in their community. They put all that aside and decided to help the Jews. They died or were willing to die for this cause. That is not to say they were not scared, but they didn't let fear dictate their actions.
The new Pepsi commercial comes to mind here, "Wake up people!" I don't have caffeine to jolt you with but I do have a verse that cuts right through every time. I can't seem to find it but I remember it's message. It says that you are responsible to tell others about truth if you do and they don't listen that is their problem but if you don't then their blood will be on your hands. I don't want to be the reason that someone doesn't get to heaven. I don't want that sin weighing on me on judgement day.
What is the hope of this message? You can do it. You can speak truth and kindness to those around you. You can bring them hope. How many times have you obeyed and GOD was glorified and you saw it? How many smiles have you been blessed with because you saw GOD working through you? Beautiful Saviour. Let me join in YOUR blessing.
