2 Corinthians 5:17-21
2 Corinthians 5:17-21 (New King James Version)
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on ChristÂs behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
GOD reconciled us to HIM by JESUS. Because JESUS was righteousness HE had no sin HE had no shame, blame, orguiltt. HE had something pure. Pure because HE was sinless. Imagine a pure mind no recollectionn of any wrong. I can't in my mind I know I have sinned over and over. But JESUS didn't have to even think about what HE should do to improve HIS walk with GOD. HE was there. HE knew no sin.
HE had a gift. I have heard that before. But it didn't mean any more than just another thing you say as a Christian. But stop and think about it. HE had an awesome gift. The gift of righteousness. HE was sinless. HE had a pure heart. No secrets. Open and Pure. HE wanted us to be there. So HE gave it to us.
Think of this. When you sin you feel bad. I feel a heavinesss that I can't shake. One sin=very heavy. It is physically draining. Now think of this. A pure heart never having to feel the heavinesss of a sin. That light, pure person taking every sin of every person. I tried to think of it by multiplying my life of sins on myself how that would drive me completely out of my mind. I would go crazy. JESUS took my whole life of sins as well as everyone else's all at one moment. HE had to be GOD because only GOD could do that and not go crazy. Imagine the weight HE must have felt at that moment. HE already had to deal with pushing HIMSELF up so HE could breath now HE had the weight of every sin on HIM. That is not a metaphore. It is truly heavy to your physical body. HIS body couldn't take it but HE is GOD so HE knew HE had to do this to give us HIS gift.
Righteousness. HE gave that to us. We are now righteous. We don't have to live in shame, blame, or guilt. We have the opportunity to live our live feeling the way JESUS felt here on earth. Completely free of sin. HE took it from us.
Thank you JESUS. Thank you.
