Prove it to yourself

Matthew 15:21-28 (New King James Version)

21 Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”
23 But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.”
24 But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”
26 But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”
27 And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

JESUS seemed to ignore her and act as if HE didn't care. That sort of contradicts HIS attitude when HE deals with other non-Israelites (the woman at the well in John 4). So why did HE treat her that way?

Every story in the Word of GOD has been added so that we can apply it to anything in our everyday lives.

HE wanted her to show her persistence. HE knew her heart and HE knew what she would do, but she needed to prove it to herself that she would preserver even when discouragement came.

We have to be persistent. We have to not get discouraged if HE at first does not answer. We have to prove to ourselves that our faith is complete. We trust HIM to be able to do what HE is capable of.

Watch this story of a faith filled family.

I have just now had the chance to comment, but I've been thinking about your post for awhile. This family was so inspirational and I love how their faith is so strong and they are moving forward to trust in Jesus when many that look at them probably feel sorry for them or think they're just well-wishers. I love how the dad said that he has to be the advocate for his son. He has to be what his son can't do for himself. That's what God does for us. He's what we can't be. But even still... the boy looks like he has something special inside of him. He just can't speak it... yet. =)
