To me, it means God the Father, Jesus Christ His Son, and God the Holy Spirit. 3 separate beings, yet all in one. I think of an egg. It has the shell, white, and yolk. Or an apple. It has the peel, the “meat” and the core. Both are great examples of 3 in 1. When I hear someone reference “The Trinity” I think to myself, ok. They are referring to all three, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Growing up a Christian, it is an instantaneous response for me to think this, because it has been explained to me many times.

To me it means "Father, Son and Holy Ghost"

My understanding is that the trinity is the belief that the Father, the Son, and the holy ghost are all one and the same being, not separate entities.
